shlee Cowles is a lover of old stories, international travel,

Inklings.

Raised in a military family without roots, she is a pilgrim soul who finds it difficult to shake the wanderlust of her early years, but (for now) she's managed to settle down in the wilds of northern Michigan with her husband and two young children.

A former high school teacher of Classical and British Literature, Ashlee is the author of the Young Adult novels Beneath Wandering Stars and The Poppy and The Rose and is currently working on a Historical Mystery series for adults. Her forthcoming release from Dutton Books in 2023, Horses of Fire, is an epic Historical novel about the Trojan War and a labor of love co-written with her lifelong best friend under the pseudonym A.D. Rhine.

Ashlee loves to connect with fellow readers and history buffs through her author website and newsletter.
