ancia E. Smith is an author, photographer, teacher, and

discipleship and creative team, The Cultivating Project. She has gratefully served in executive management, church leadership, school boards, and art & faith organizations for over 30 years. A recovering addict herself with more than 40 years of sobriety, Lancia has done extensive support counseling for the bereaved, trauma and abuse survivors, and recovering addict and alcoholics. Her defining life focus is discipleship, expressed through mentoring, nurturing, and teaching.

Lancia and her husband Peter founded and co-own an environmental consulting, engineering, and construction firm in Colorado. Making their home in the Black Forest of Colorado Springs, they welcome a merry stream of guests, cherish their resident wildlife, and keep company with 200 Ponderosa pine trees and several thousand books in their home library. Their six children and seven grandchildren live across the globe, serving communities in Vancouver WA, Colorado, D.C., and Thailand. Every visit with them, whether in Colorado or in far flung places, is a gift. Lancia loves design; road trips; being read aloud to by Peter; epic soundtracks, beautifully bound books, and the works of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and George MacDonald.
